Across the land as the Purge happened many Orcish scholars foretold of the evil coming. They rounded up as many magic wielders as they could and made strongholds to protect their people. These large structures were full of protective magic and concealing rituals to hide them from the hordes as they sought them out. In many places, Gul’s power proved to be too much and he was able to break through into these and pull the Orcs clawing and screaming to be purged. In other places, darker magic exists from those times. The spells Gul used involved teleporting large groups of Orcs to his camps to be purged and these camps are still peppered throughout the land. They are nothing more but empty husks of their former might, but still impressive and foul to behold. Many Orcs died in these places and who can be sure that their spirits are not still there, restless and disembodied. Many things were summoned in these places, both accidentally and by choice. A great deal of these things refused to leave and stay here on this plane seeking a chance to be let loose again and destroy the living. There are many rumors surrounding these places and their locations. Many evil dragons were drawn to them and offered services to Gul and his men to further suffering on a grand scale. A tale of Orcish Scholars summoning an avatar spirit of justice and binding it to a Iron Golem is one of the other tales passed around camp fires. A sick breed of orisch vampires that sustain themselves on human and elf eyes has also been told. Whatever the story, no matter how far fetched it is entirely possible it holds some truth. For many unwritten atrocities happened during those days.
